3rd Intensive Study Day on Involving parents in child psychotherapy

Dear All,

We are happy to  invite you for a Third Intensive Study Day with Jean Murray which will take place in Maldron Hotel Tallaght on Saturday, 30th March 2019.

In her talk, Jean will argue that working psychoanalytically with  children  requires  parental  involvement since one of the core elements of psychoanalytic child psychotherapy is to reinstate the child in the family (which may not necessarily be the birth family). By referring to specific examples, Jean will unravel the interplay between the family dynamics and the child's illness which together make referral  to  child  psychotherapy  imperative.  By using the  transference, which of necessity involves both child-to-therapist transference and parent-to therapist transference, she will show  the challenges and joys of working psychoanalytically with children as they struggle to establish their place in their families.
